Most Women Struggle with Rising Health Care Costs

When we speak about the different treatment of diseases for men and women we must not forget that this difference is often also linked to the economic aspect. Due to increased costs, women have more problems than men in getting health care they need. Healthcare includes treatments and drugs. Paying for health care is a problem felt by women more than men. A survey of American women in working age has revealed that 7 women out of 10 (64 million) had no health care. 52% of women and 39% of men in working age always claimed to have problems of access to health services because of cost. What is most worrying is that women sometimes do not submit to the specialist visits and do not follow a correct follow up, for the high costs. It is important also to underline that women often have more difficulty in obtaining reimbursement of bills for health care costs.
